Marindependent Insurance Services was recently cited in a short article, that can be found on Staples (Staples.com) about worst case scenarios titled: “Worst-Case Scenarios: How Would You Handle These Emergencies“. “You don’t have to be a Boy Scout to benefit from their motto: Be prepared.” Thank you to the author (Margot Carmichael Lester, Staples® Contributing Writer) and Staples.
In the event of any emergency, generally you should first get medical attention by calling 911. Only afterwards should you begin to work on the insurance/financial situation and ramifications. Contacting your Insurance Broker after the event is rarely a bad idea.
“Call your insurance agent, broker or insurance company immediately after law enforcement and EMS have stabilized the situation, Johnson says. “There are insurance coverages you may elect to use immediately, such as towing.”
